- Testing
- At least three samples from each textured ceiling area; the texture is positive
- Area
- About 750 sq ft of ceiling in the living room, the hall and three bedrooms
- Work
- Rooms sealed under negative pressure, texture soaked and scraped, after the 10-day DEQ notice
- Timeline
- Ten-day notice, then four working days
- Cost
- $8,100
In this example, the heating cables buried in the ceilings of a 1970s house in Gladstone have stopped working, and the owners switch to a heat pump. The old ceiling board is cracked along the cable lines, so they plan new board and smooth ceilings in every room.
